Odtober Rainfall
Figures from, Edgecumbe show that, the rainfall measured on the Plains, for the, month of October was 6.12 inches with 1-1 rain days. The greatest individual fall was on October 20tli when 1.79 was recorded, while the total for the year to date is now 50.47 inches.. This compares with 47.94 for the first ten months of last year f and 2.76 for, October, 1913.
Half-crown to a Penny! A Thames father was astonished after the Labour Day week-end racing when his young son informed him that he "nearly caught the double!" Further inquiry by the father showed that one.
