VANDALISM
RECENTLY two dozen flowering cherry trees were donated the Beautifying Society and planted the length of one side of the Domain drive. During the week two of these beautiful trees, which were just taking root were deliberately torn out by the roots by persons unknown, and laid across the path. It is beyond our com:#:eiiension that such people exist who could be responsible for such wanton and deliberate behaviour. The work of the Society'is entirely voluntary ,and is dedicated to the public benefit and to the improved appearance of the town. The act will therefore be roundly condemned by all right minded citizens who should regard it as a duty to protect public property and report any individual who may be seen deliberately damaging or removing the trees concerned. , \
