REFUGEE CHILDREN APPEAL TO YOU

SIX hundred 'Polish refugee children, boys and girls ranging from five years to twenty years old have arrived m New Zealand, in a condition reaching almost pitiful destitution. The cry goes forth to all persons of good heart to come urgently to the aid of these little victims of war, by making suitable clothing available to them in order that they may be made warm and comfortable, and feel without delay the flavour of that hospitality for which our country is well known. Whakatane residents who desire to respond to this appeal should leave parcels of suitable clothing with Mrs Moran, 10 Victoria Avenue, the Kopeopeo Dairy, or at the Red Cross Shop on the Strand. In the event of clothes parcels to be picked up a ring to either 59 or 348 will effect this at short notice., This ap-> ' peal is urgent and should know few denials.
