TO-DAY'S CELEBRATION
MAYOR'S MESSAGE TO TOWNSPEOPLE In deference to the Prime Minister's request that the capitulation of Rumania and the freeing of both Paris and Marsailles froim the Nazi yoke should l be marked throughout the Dominion with appropriate celebrations the Mayor of Whakatane Mr B. S. Barry, requests all business premises to fly flags and bunting wherever possible. Also that private persons be invited to do the same. Aft 12 o'clock (noon) the fire siren will be sounded.
