THE BOY'S BANDS
WE doubt if there, is another town of Whakatane's category which can boast the presence of a two Boy's, Bands. The recent praise by the Borough Councillors has brought the Junior Citizens' Band well to the fore and we hasten to add our own praise and congratulations on the remarkable results which have been achieved in that direction. There is however another junior organisation equally deserving of commendation, and that is the Boy's Pipe Band, which last Saturday gave a splendid account of itself. Fully equipped and kilted, the band represents a triumph over many difficulties and as far as the Caledonian Society is concerned we can safely add that it too, has presented the town with an asset which has earned the appreciation of the citizens as a whole.
