OPOURIAO'S DAIRY ACHIEVEMENT
HIGHLY assessed provincial honours have been won by the Opouriao Dairy Company, which was recently awarded the Hardley Cup in the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Competing companies throughout the Auckland province. The The cup which is usually contested closely is awarded to the company producing the best average grade cheese from October Ist, to the following April 30th. The whole of the season is thus covered and over the last period of operations Opouriao has won signal honours over all other company's competitions for better and standardised produce, achievement is all the more creditable in view of the large percentage of Maori suppliers to the company, apd rebuffs for all times the suggestion that the grade of milk supplied is in any way inferior to that supplied by Pakeha farmers. Possession of the trophy carries with it the proof that given proper encouragement and supervision, the Maori farmer can not merely equal the standard of product manufactured by the European producer, but can actually surpass it by a comfortable margin.
