MESSRS DALGETY'S REPORT Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report having held their special dairy sale at the W.hakatane Saleyards on Wednesday, July 12, when more than the advertised yarding of cattle came forward, and practically a total clearance under the hammer was effected. Most of the cattle yarded showed quality; but in some cases the condition left something to be desired, although all classes were keenly sought after. A feature of the yarding was the entry of Mr H. W. Eagle's pedigree Jerseys, which sold at up to 26 guineas for heifers and up to 25 guineas for cows. We give below summary of the priccs obtained at the sale: Cows, young and sound to £9 10s; older to £8 ss; low conditioned and late to £7; good springing heifers with 'good butterfat backing to £13; others to £12; forward heifers £10> to £11 12s 6d; lighter conditioned heifers £9 to £9 17s Gd; backward heifers £7 to £8. 15s.
