Cake for Britain

A modification in the restrictions imposed on the forwarding of cakes weighing m excess of 21b in gift parcels to the United Kingdom has been announced by the PostmasterGeneral. There was, he said, now no objection to the posting of paicels containing more than 21b of cake, provided that the total weight of any parcel did not exceed 51b. In respect of other foodstuffs,, the existing restriction of 21b for • any one class of foodstuff contained in a gift parcel still applied, and also that parcels weighing in excess of the gross weight of 51b were liable to seizure. Gift parcels, including parcels containing cake, should not be posted at more frequent intervals than once a month.
