LOAN UNPOPULAR
HOSPITAL POLL REACTION ADVERSE COUNTY VOTE •County reaction to the recent l/oan was definitely to be seen in the unfavourable vote against members who championed the proposal, at the Hospital Board' election last Saturday. There was a definite swing away from the old board with the exception of those members who were averse to the loan. The new Board as it is constituted will present something of an <y.iigma to the Government, being pledged! by virtue of the action of the previous board to put into effect a proposal to which the majority will be bitterly opposed'. The result of the poll was:— xßurt, F. J 536\ xMcGougan, A. F 505| xMcCready, H. C 478 Mitchell, J .A., 432 CaulfielcL J. P 383 xßuddle'T'L 369 xHaultain, Mrs B. M 338 Unsuccessful Mullins, J 334, xßarr, A. B 332 Dunning, R. W. 320 xSavage, F. J 241 Colebrook, J. G 199 Declaration votes 4. Informal 17. Total cast 4488. No Election in 1941 ht is interesting to recall that there was no Hospital Board election in 1941, there being no further nominations other than those of the sitting members, who were declared re-elected.
