CLUB MEETING

WINTER ROWING SUGGESTED

A motion was. carried at the last meeting of the Whakatane Rowing Club that winter rowing should be encouraged and for that purpose, a subscription of 5s would apply. This, it was stated, would give old and new members an opportunity to receive extra coaching and to start the new season in a fit condition, as well as giving them a grasp of the essential points of oarsmanship—a benefit whicli would make itself noticed in the improved rowing standards which would be. attained. The Caledonian Hall was: decided upon as the venue of a monster dance, to be held on May 19, the arrangements for this being t left in the hands of the club captain, W. Rivett, and a sub-committee. Enthusiastic support is expected from every member of the club, for it is certain that this dance will be on an exceptionally fine scale with attractions which should make it the dance of the season. It was decided to display full particulars of this shortly. Those willing to assist, with contributions towards the supper should get in touch with Mr W. Rivett.
