Mr :ind Mrs A. G Tebbutt, of Tancatua, have received advise that their son, Private Alt' Tebbutt, has been transferred from Camp P.G. l:\ Italy to Stalag XVilli A Germany. Last Sunday night, the Rev Laugliton broadcast a sermon in Maori and held a service, from station 2YA Wellington. He was assisted by a choir from the Turakina Maori Girls College under the auspices of the Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Laughton lias now returned. to Whakatane. Advice, has been received by Mr and Mrs Head of Ohope that their son, John, has been selected as a cadet for the "Royal Military Col'ege" Duntroon, Australia. Eighty applicants were under consideration, seventeen of whom were sent to Trentham for final consideration. Ten have been selected and will ,eave shortly for Austi-alia. To readers who remember Stan Chrisp, formerly of Whakatane, it may be of interest to know that he is now a star turn in Ophir Ree's atest production, "Furlough Frolics," at present being staged in Auckland. His rendering of many popular tunes on the piano accordion is greatly acclaimed by the public who term him as nothing less than a "wizard." Stan Chrisp is the son of a former theatre manager of '.V'hukatane and resided here three years ago.
