New Cemetery Approach Steps will be taken by the Whakatanc County Council to metal the approach and tlr'ive to the new Hillcrest cemetery in approximately two weeks time.. Rehabilitation Regulations Amended rehabilitation regulations provide that children of servicemen killed or totally incapacitated may qualify for benefits under the Rehabilitation Act, irrespective of whether their mother is living or dead. This removes an anomaly in the previous regulations., which debarred children of deceased servicemen from such benefits unless the mother were dead. Growth of R.S.A. The financial membership of the R.S.A. throughout the Dominion at October 31 stood at 43,763,. including 698,7 of those, returned from .the present w*ar. This was reported to the half-yearly meeting of the. Waikato Returned Services' Association at its last meeting by the president, Mr Arthur Fow. who added that the figures for the. same time last year were 35,518 an<J 2108.

New lVjd Stamp Now Zealand's Centennial postage stamps would have all been withdrawn from use at the end ol the centennial year had not the war made the. saving of paper necessary. Therefore each denomination continued in use until printed supplies were used up. With most values this very soon happened, but the halfpenny and the penny-halfpenny, being comparatively little iu demand, still survive. They are now the only Centennial stamps in use. The. halfpenny is likely to continue in use for some; time yet. but stoiks of the penny-halfpenny are nearing an end,, and at the beginning of Februarv next a new penny-hallpenny stamp will take its place. J his stamp will be similar to the ciincnt King Ceorge VI series and will be red in colour.
