-SUCCESSFUL STREET APPEAL
Oil Friday hist the. annual street appeal of the Plunket Society was held in Wliakatanc. A very active committee conducted a complete canvas of the. busine'ss area in tlie town and Kopoopeo during the day and again in the evening. Proceeds of the -collection and various, competitions amounted to the very creditable sum of £93. The people •of Wliakatanc. are to- be congratulated upon this result. The committee wishes to thank all -who assisted in any way to make the day a success. Particularly donors ol' goods and business firms who •assisted in many ways. Results of the various 'competitions were as follows:— Cake: Mrs B. Wales. Doll: C. Bunyan. Sweets: Trevor Cairns. Dinner: Donald Crozier. •Groceries: J. Watson. -Sponge: Anthony Wallace. Knife: Mrs Crozier.
