WATERMAN —HEAD
On Thursday, November 25, the "Whakatane Methodist Church was 4he scene of a distinctive wedding of considerable local interest when Vivienne. Florence, elder daughter of Lieut. C. A. Head, and the late Mrs Head, of James Street, Whakatane., was married, to Sapper Frank Leslie; N.Z.E.F. (on furlough) .younger son of Mrs F. F. Water-, .man of Soutars: Avenue, Whakatane, The Rev. G. V. Thomas officiated, whilst Mr A. E. H. Potto, uncle ■of. the bride., played the wedding march.. The bride who was given away by her father, wore a very charming dusky pink frock with hat to match and carried a dainty bouquet of carnations, pink roses, cornflowers and love in the mist. The bridesmaid was Miss Verna Head (sister of the. bride) who wore; a •delphinun blue frock with hat to match and carried a bouquet of carnations and sweetpeas. Ptc, M. J. Danaher, N.Z.E.F. (on furlough) attended as best man. After the ceremony the party adjourned to the Daffodil Tea Rooms, .Whakatane, where a very dainty wedding breakfast had been arranged by Mrs A. D. Gibson. Mr F. C. Brockett acted as toastmaster. Among the guests were Mr and Mrs Brocket, Miss J. E. Morrison, Miss Gwcnyth Head, Mr A. E. H. Potto, Miss E. Tipping, Miss Lorraine Harris and Master D. Brockett. Mr and Mrs Waterman left later by car to spend their honeymoon in the Tauranga district*
