ANNUAL GENERAL MKK'ITXG
The annual general meeting of the Whakatane (loll' Club took })laee in the Borough Council Chambers on Thursday, November 11 inst. at S p.m. Vice-president Mr Spence, presided. The report and the treasurer's balance sheet were adopted and the election of officers for the next season 1944 resulted as follows:— President: Mr L. Lux ton. Vice-presidents: Messrs- Spence and Powdrell. Club Captain: Mr L. Rangi. Sec rotary: Mr H. Stubbs. Treasurer: Mr Suckling. Auditor: Mr Mollguard. Committee: Messrs Henderson,, Morpeth." Barry.. Steel. After discussing various matters the meeting adjourned with a hearty vole to the chair. Whakatane Ladies Club The ladies annual general meeting will be. held, as is their custom, on the opening dny of the 19-14 season at the clubhouse, usually after the afternoon tea session. Holding it I then, assures the, club of a full mus-j | ter of members. i [ Correction! The winners of a Four-ball Bestball: Bogey competition played on Saturday, November 6 th, were Butler and Syme 4 up. Dr. Dawsoni and Bushett I up being listed as the winners thereof. • j The Press Before going of! the '"air" as it were, for thes ummer recess,, a very hearty vote of thanks was expressed at the annual general meeting, to the Beacon for publishing the golfing reports. These lengthy epistles were enough to try the patience of an3 T linotypist, it was slated, and were reproduced faithfully and to the last letter.
