AIR TRAINING CORPS

FORMATION IN OPOTIKI

A movement is now on foot to form an Air Training Corps in Opotiki and present indications are that the Corps will prove very popular. The movement is purely a voluntary one and there is no obligation on members to join the Air Force. The course, says the. Opotikn News,, i.s a ground one. and members of the Air Training Corps do not undertake actual Hying training. The course is a valuable educational one and pupils are taught mathematics, aviation engineering, specialised training in service flying, civil aviation. radio and other interesting trades. The new group will be conducted on the same lines as that operating in Whakatane at the present time.
