ST. JOHN'S NURSING DIVISION
The annual inspection of the A\'aimana branch of the St. John's Nursing" Division took place in the Waimana' Hall last AVednesciay ai'ter--1 noon by' Assistant Commissioner Cobb. Mrs Wylcle, the Ambulance Officer, received Commissioner Cobb and Mr Carling, in the absence ol' Nurse. McKay, the Lady Superintendent, who was away on holiday. Mrs Leather, the secretary, presented the books etc. for inspection which were in order. Commissioner Cobb then gave, a most helpful and instructive address, stating how pleased lie was to have the opportunity to be able to visit the Waimana Nursing Division again. The speaker stated that the Nursing Divisions were of paramount importance to the Brigade. Questions were raised by Mrs Wylde about the forming of a Cadet branch at the school. Commissioner Cobb said tu encourage children to take First Aid and Home Nursing and. form a school cadet division if possible, a.s children having knowledge of First Aid Home. Nursing and hygiene, woulc help to minimise hospital cases. Wi ; now-a-days were reaping the bench I ol the past work done by earJieJ - members. There are (ji:S active Divisions in New Zealand with i;*,B-tr> members, and the number of eases receiving First Aid in public during the past year wore 116,703 and first aid treatment was given to approximately 80.000 persons in private homes. Commissioner Cobb on behalf of the headquarters expressed thanks for work done in the past year,, and hoped they would carry on the work for many years to come. Mrs Wylde thanked Commissioner Cobb for his interesting and. instructive adcircss, which was greatly appreciated by all the members.
