THE FOLK AT HOME

OUR readers must have agreed that it was good to read of the Reunion Dinner, promoted by the Whakatane boys who are now serving with the 'Kiwi' Division in the Middle East. Perhaps the most moving feature of the whole report was the emphasis on the word "home," and not a few who read the account must have felt a tug at the heart strings when mention was made of the toast to "Absent Friends." Apart from that incident the keynote of the whole gathering appeared to be thoughts and talk of home. It was a topic which dominated the whole conversation and which no doubt was the; basis for happy planning and good resolutions. The report has afforded us all a glimpse of the warm regard and affection felt by all our boys for their home town and the folk they know and love. Dare we forget it?
