NEW RATION BOOK
PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATION
The Whakatane Post Office has put. oil extra stall' to cope with the issue of the new ration books and it would help considerably if immediate application is made and folk are aware of the formalities.
When application is made for the new ration book a special lorm. will be issued for signature, the applicant. being obliged to produce the old book of the. second series. Ration book holders 1G years of age and over Avill require to produce their social security coupon books. A .separate application is required for each person, but as in the past, \he head of a household may complete and sign the application forms: and secure the ration books for all members of the family. Application on behalf of children under 1(> years must be mad? by the jiarcnt or guardian, regardless of whether the. child is at home or at a boarding school. Members of the Armed Forces living out of camp must, obtain a special form of application issued by their commanding officers instead of a social security book.. A supplementary ration book will be issued to every expectant mother who has not already received one in addition to her own book.
