INSTITUTE AFFAIRS The August meeting of the Wai-mana-Nukuhou Women's Institute, was held in the Waimana Hall recently. There was a very good attendance of members, and Mrs F. Savage, vice-president, presided. The singing of the Institute, song opened the meeting. & The minutes and correspondence were dealt with. Mrs Wool field gave a most full and interesting report on the Dominion Conference, which was held in Gisbornc recently. The roll call "Sing, Say or Pay" was very well responded to, only a small number having to pay. Mrs W. Stevenson gave a humorous reading -entitled the "Christmas Goose." The birthday programme, which should had been presented at the August meeting, is postponed until September. The birthday cake was made and iced by Mrs. Hewitt 1 - and was .cut during afternoon tea. Mrs Hewitt, is making another cake for the birthday celebrations next month. A competition guessing the weight of the cake, was won by
