YOUR WORST ENEMY
A Japanese fable tells of a man who was tormented day and night by a fearsome monster. Finally, the victim (turned upon the fiend,, asking why he was thus persecuted. "Blame yourself for thy trouble." the monster sternly replied. "I have no. form except what thou thyself hast given me."
What is this arcli-field who pursues us all? Is it poverty, loneliness., famine, war, disease, death? No —it is the father of them all. The arch-enemy of mankind is fear. Fear is the result of inferiority complex, an activc group of negative and destructive forces in yoar subconscious mind. These tend to. undermine j'our happiness,, rob you of your, self-confidence and dwarf your personalit3*. Inferiority complex generally has its origin in apparently unimportant experiences in early life 1 , such as too sheltered, an ein as that of an only child, an overbearing father or indulgent mother, an overshadowing brother or sister a sarcastic schoolteacher or the ridicule of playmates, failure, in examination, corporal punishment (particularly if unfair), a sex shock, a delicate infancy receiving too much protective care, some deformity or peculiarity of appearance, or any other circumstance which tended to push you into the background. Fear is your worst enemy—mentally, socially and in regard to your health. Fear is the cancer of the mind. Doubt and fear have. made many a good man good for nothing. Don't lei: fear show through your eyes and Vou will j*.ist about own the world.
