Crockett. The .valuation in each ease was £15 per acre. The substance of the objections was that the land was low-lying and subject to flood and also that the farms enjpyeel but a meagre amount of the ordinary facilities supplied by the Borough. Mr L. Buddie (Borough Council) pointed out that the properties were valued at a figure which was £5' and £10 Jess than county valuations of land on the other side of the river which was almost, identical. These lands carried rates to the extent of £1 4s. 4d per acre whereas the objectors were only charged £1 'is 5d per acre.
