PAPER DRIVE ON 20th
THREE ZONES IN BOROUGH
The recently inaugurated l Borough Anti-Waste Committee has taken steps to reorganise the whole of the basis of collection throughout the business and residential areas. The town has been zoned off into three separate sections to be known as Zone 1, 2 an,d ! 3 and the latter two will be canvassed 1 on dates to be announced' later. Boy volunteers have undertaken to carry out the canvass of the various streets in each area. On Saturday, March 20th the first canvass will be made of Zone I which comprises the business area, the Head's, Hillcrest and Apanui. The streets concerned are Louvain, Merrit and Simpkins Streets* McAlister Street and town end of Domain Road. Commerce Street to corner of Short Street is also included as well as Short Street and Francisi Street. All Hi'llcrest homes will be visited, while the streets adjoining the Strand', Clifton Road 1 , Wairere and Toroa Streets will also be thoroughly combed. Homes at the Heads are included in this zone and' housewives are asked to have their waste paper in readiness. Householders' in Zone I please assist in this collection by cooperating with the organisers and assisting the boys who will be visiting you on Saturday next. Look out your old magazines, papers and periodicals, as well as your wrapping paper. All can be utilised in the country'fc war effort.
