WAIMANA SPORTS MEETING

IT is Waimana's turn! A country centre celebrated for the richness of its pastures, a community known for its progress in dairying and its stud herds. Waimana will hold its first Patriotic sports meeting on Saturday, 20th and hopes, if in a somewhat smaller degree, to emulate the wonderful success which has attended similar events held recently at Pukehina and Pongakawa. The programme, details of which are published in this issue, promises to be a varied and interesting one, and from what we understand the whole district is combining towards the promotion and successful staging of the event. The appeal is broadcast to residents of Whakatane and neighbouring districts to afford Waimana's effort all the patronage possible, in view of this centre's generous and loyal support to the broader movements of the district as a whole.
