THE NEXT ELECTION
HOW many of our readers have given thought to the political prominade which is likely to grace the electioneeringcampaign next November. The galaxy of Parties will be almost as decorative as it was at the time of the 1935 election. Apart from the Labour and National candidates, we have the Lee-Barnard Party, the True Democracy Movement, the Social Justice Party, the Independent Party (which incidentally aims at the destruction of partyism), the Communist Party (resurrected, and proud of it, by virtue of our allegiance with Russia), the Monetary Reformers and the straight-out Independents. All the above are active to-day, as a result of the widespread discontent engendered by the present Government's dictatorial control under the guise of emergency regulations resulting from war conditions. We wonder how many political schools of thought will be represented by the candidates standing in this electorate:. . .
