WHAKATANE DEFEATS TANEATUA

In a match against Taneatua ox* Sunday Wliakatane defeated the l visitors by an innings and 4 runs in a game played under ideal conditions. The ground was in good trim after the recent rains and overhead, conditions were pleasant. Taneatua won the toss: and elected to bat. Steady bowling by the four Wliakatane bowlers made runs hard to get and wickets fell steadily with the visitors out for 72 McCready 10' and Thompson 14 were the only two batsmen, to show form.
