Difficulties of Harbour Board
The shrinkage, in revenue from the smaller ports owing to. war conditions was emphasised by the Wairoa Harbour Board in a lettqr to the Whakatane Board last Friday, when it was claimed that .the time was ripe for bringing the whole matter to the notice of the Government. To this end it was suggested that, a conference of s'maller boards should be called. The Whakatane Board; decided to support the suggestion and recommended that Rotorua or Hamilton be appointed the place of venue for such conference'. The chairman and the clerk were appointed delegates.
