KILLINGS TO MID-JANUARY The official figures of killings for the present, season at the Dominions Freezing "Works from Ist October till 16tli January, as issued by the New Zealand Meat Producers Board, show that lamb killings now total 3,304, 602 carcases compared with 3,914j513 carcases, to 17th January lasit season, this being a decrease of 609,911 carcases. Wether mutton killings are 58,202 carcases, and ewe mutton killings 157,911 carcases, compared with 152,188 and 111930 carcases last season. Details: of the lamb and, mutton killings in the North Island, with figures; for the previous season in parentheses, are as follows:— Lamb <2,473 (2,611,130);/ weither mutton 57,770 (145,308); ewe mutton 151,375 (74,314). Frozen beef production has reached 65,554 quarters compared with 48,914 quarters: last season. Porker killings now total 10.860 carcases compared with 40,972 carcases last season, being a decrease of 30,1'12, whilst baconers total 48.819 carcases compared Avith 129,290 last season, being a decrease of 80.471.
