HAMILTON SALE

The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co. Ltd., report:—

Sheep: At their weekly stock sale held at Hamilton on Tuesday, a medium yarding of fat sheep Avas penned. Competition' for prime wethers was keen and last week's rates Avere fully maintained. Fat lambs came forward in good numbers and sold readily, while fat ewes also sold at recent quotations.

Cattle: Ox beef was; yarded; in smaller numbers than usual. Values remained fully firm at last week's ra<tes. No extra bullocks Avere penned. Coav and heifer, beef was also in shorter supply and here also values Avere. unchanged. Veal Avas penned in full numbers and under steady competition sold readily.

Pigs: A medium entry of fat pigs and a small l yarding of store and weaner pigs came forward. The demand for baconers and porkers was very keen with values 4 ( n advance of those ruling last week. Store and weancr pigs were also keenly sought, and a good sale resulted.. Quotations- — Sheep: Prime fat wethers 27s 6d to 28s 9d; medium weight wethers 26s ito 275; prime' light wethers 24s to 25sj; heavy fat lambs 23s 6d to 24s 6d; medium fat lambs 22s to 235; light fat lambs' 19s to 21s; prime fat ewes 13s 6d to 14s' 6d; medium 12s to 13s;. light 8s to 10s. Cattle: Heavy prime, ox £13 5s to £13 17s 6d; medium £12 to £12 15.5; light £10 7s 6d to £11; extra heavy prime cow and heifer £10 Is to £10 12s; heavy prime cow and heifer - £9 3s to £9 12s, Gd; medium £8 5s to £8 15s; light £7 5s to £7 15s; plain cow and boner beef £4 10s to £G 10s; heavy runners £6 10s to £6 19s; medium £5 lis to £5 15si; heavy vealers £4 to £4 15s; medium £3 to £3 15s; light 35s to £2 10s; calves 12s to 255.
