FORTHCOMING HORSE SHOW AND GYMKHANA

AFTER a lapse of two years when the annual show fixtures * were abandoned on account of the ruling war conditions, it is pleasing to note the new initiative of the Whakatane and Rangitaiki A. and P. Association in deciding to run a Horse Show and Gymkhana in Whakatane on Saturday, February 20th. On this occasion the Association is bent upon staging a series of competitions in keeping with the, new interest in horses. Undoubtedly it is following in the wake of the successful experiment by the HomeGuard Mounted Units Gymkhana which pioneered the way and illustrated the fact that in spite of transport difficulties, labour problems and war work, it was still possible to draw record-breaking erowds to the show grounds. The: A. and P. Association has followed up this excellent lead and we wish them the greatest success in their venture.
