At the meeting of the Whakatane County Council Last Tuesday the County Clerk reported that W. P. Windust Ltd. advised on the Bth October being unable to quote for dog collars for the 1943 year, as the necessary buckles a fid decs were unprocurable. St was also stated that it was not expected that the position to ease for some. time. Last year several local authorities were unable to procure dog collars and. regulations were gazetted which prjjpded that in those cases where a focal authority was unable to obtain a supply of dog collars, iL could in lieu thereof, issue to a person registering a dog, a certificate in the form' prescribed. The effect of the certificate \yas that the 1941 dog collar valid, the certificate being the""re-rcgistration for the then current |ycar. The Council resolved that the Department of Internal Affairs be asked if the Dogs Registration Amendment Regulations 1942, would be extended to apply to the 194.y registration year.
