MAORI GIRL'S DEATH
AFTER EFFECTS OF INFLUENZA
WORK PRQVES FATAL
Her impatience to return to her ordinary household duties after a severe bouit of influenza lead to the death of a 15 y 2 year old Maori girl, Puti Wirihana
of Awakeri oh Tuesday last
Evidence at the inquest .showed that deceased lived with her foster parents. Mr and Mrs Maniheri Maunsell, of Awaken. Some two weeks ago she contracted influenza and was confined to her bed. Her foster father, had procured medicine for her and she appeared to recover satisfactorily. On the morning of the 22 inst she decided to get up and dressed herself about 0 a.m., shortly after which she became distressed and going hack to bed she. died at 9 a.m., two hours later. Medical evidence showed that deceased had died of heart strain through endeavouring to return to work too soon after severe influenza. A verdict to this: elfect was brought in accordingly.
