WHERE DUTY LIES
SEQUEL TO APPEAL WITHDRAWAL
When Mr L. Buddie intimated to
the Overseas Appeal Board last Thursday that the appeal by F. R. Qlding in the interests of reservist Maurice James Knox was withdrawn, the chairman,. Mr S. L. Patterson, . astked with some surprise l if reservist was willing to leave the farm upon which he was evidently the main hand.
Mr Buddie: "Those are my instructions, Sir. The matter has evidently been talked over and a decision made to withdraw."
Mr Patterson: "The position isthat we are taking men out of camp now and putting them hack on 'the farms to assist production. We don't therefore want to .take trained men off the land if we can help it!" The case was adjourned in order to enable the hoard -to make further enquiries.
