WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

TANEATUA MEETING

The Taneatua Women's Institute held its August meeting recently, Mrs Adams presiding over a good attendance of members and visitors. The meeting opened with the Institute song and Avas folloAved by the reading of the month's motto, Lcono.my is not how little one can spend, but how wisely one can spend it.

The roll call, "Most interesting town I lurve visited and why," was well responded to and the various

opinions Avere most interesting. Airs Clarke from the Waimana In-

stitute Avas present, and gaA r c a very descriptive talk on her visit, to Europe and the United Kingdom just prior to the outbreak of Avar. Members we're able lo view the numerous souvenirs from the various places visited by Mrs Clarke and thej> Avere most interesting.

Competitions were won as follows: Dainty bedroom novelty, Mrs Adams L; Mrs Alexander 2. Collection of biscuits, 4 varieties, Mrs Gardner 1. After a dainty afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, the meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
