RECENT PICTURE BENEFIT SUM OF £17 RAISED Although the weather was far from favourable, the picture benefit which was held last Wednesday evening, in aid of the Plunlcct Society, attracted a large crowd. The foyer of the theatre was tastefully decorated by the ladies of the coramiittee. The management had provided a suitable programme, which was appreciated by the audience and following the intermission, the Mayor, Mr B. S. Barry, thanked the patrons, on behalf of the committee for their support. He also congratulated the ladies of the committee on the splendid work they -were doing in providing funds for this very necessary service. He stated that a considerable sum had to be raised annually, and that the evening's entertainment had benefited the funds to the extent of approximately £17.
