the Church authorities and the Armed Services, the Government has approved arrangements for the observance of the day. (2) In each centre of population the civic and Church authorities are requested lo combine to hold a public service which will enable the people generally to observe the day of prayer. Wherever circumstances permit arrangements will be made to broadcast these services. Announcing that industries wi'll not close down on the day of nan tional prayer, Mr Sullivan said that it is the Government's wish that in fixing the times of the services due regard should be paid to the desirability of interrupting as little as possible the working day.
