U.S.A. "HAW HAW"
BROADCASTS TO AMERICA LONG PERIOD SPENT IN ITALY Ezra 'Pound, the American poet, who is one of the leading influences in modern English verse, has become America's Lord Haw-Haw and broadcasts regularly from Rome to America. In his 1 latest talk he deplored Ihe entry of the United States into the war against Italy and Germany, declaring that "the prof] Leers" had been K.OO strong for Roosevelt, and had dragged America into the conflict. Among Pound's many eccentricities and aberrations, his admiration for the Fascist regime -in Italy has long been notorious. He lias been living in Italy for some years, after a long period in London.
