BRITAIN'S EFFORT
VOLUME OF PRODUCTION
REMARKABLE COMPARISONS
Britain's achievement in wartime production is the subject of a pronouncement by the British Ministry of Information on May 9, 10-12, received by the Bank of. New South Wales.
"'Since June. 3!)-!(), when Britain was suddenly and unexpectedly left alone to face the German war machine,"' sa3*s the document, "'the British people have worked hard and patiently in their war factories. Their achievements are impressive. They have toiled so hard that today they produce as large a volume of many of the goods of war as, Germany and the German-controlled countries, whose combined population is several times that of Britain. They are still well ahead of the United States in production, in spite of the rapidly swelling output of the factories in that country.'"
