EASTER NEXT YEAR
HOLIDAY POSITION
Easter next year has complications that will require a little thought because of its bearing on the statutory holiday position. For the first time since the year 1886 Easter Sunday will fall ncx L year on April 25, which is the latest possible clay in the year on which it can fall. In fact, only five times in 500 years does it occur so late.. The complication arises from the fact that Anzac Day coincides with Easter Sunday next year. Anzac Day can hardly be observed on the following Monday, which is Easter Monday. Will it be observed on Tuesday, wl>ich is already observed ,a.s a holiday in some walks of life, will it be observed on Wednesday, or will the observance on Sunday be considered sufficient? M the latter, how will. holidays be affected under awards in which Anzac Da 5' is taken into account as a holiday?
