«. —— ■ -• PLEASANT AWAKERI GATHERING ,4 •—— " i A very pleasant afternoon was held in the Awakeri Hall recently the occasion being the thirteenth birthday of the Awakeri Branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union. The hall was prettily decorated with spring flowers and wattle -blossom. Mrs Luke welcomed the visitors and all joined in singing the National Anthem. During the afternoon Mrs Luxton sang two songs and Mrs Smith played two pianoforte solos. Wall competitions were won by Mrs Kilbride and Mrs Signal respectively, a guessing competition (coins in a jar) was won by Mr£ Tressider. The Bring and Buy Stall was very popular, and the stall hoklors were kept busy. Mrs Bloxam was the lucky winner 6f the dinner. A de- 1 lightful afternoan tea served by the members brought the afternoon to a close.
