UNITED SERVICE
MAORI AND PAKEHA GATHERING AT KNOX CHURCH The congregation, both Maori and Pakeha, which filled Knox Church last Sunday evening for the united service, must have been a great inspiration and encouragement to the Superintendent of Maori Missions, the. Rev. G. S. Laughton, and the session of the local Presbyterian Church. Part of the service was conducted in English old, well-known hymns being sung heartily by all. The Maori portion included two hymns which were beautifully rendered by the boys of the Matahi Home Guard and a sermon and prayer by the Superintendent whose fluency in the Native tongue must have surprised and impressed many. We strongly commend this new venture.
