BENZINE FOR PATRIOTIC PURPOSES ONLY 48 GALS PER MONTH In a communication to the secretary of the 'Zone Iv' Patriotic Committee (Whakatane and Opotiki) the Secretary, Auckland Provincial Patriotic Council advised that the Dominion Oil Fuel Controller had approved a special license of 450 gallons a month for Patriotic purposes throughout the province. In view of the small quantity aA-ailable Zone Iv had been allocated 48 gallons per month. The Hon. Secretary reported on the authority of the abovementioned letter the Deputy Oil Fuel Controller, Whakatane, issued in favour of the Executive a benzine permit for 48 gallons per month. This had been allocated, pending a sitting of the committee as follows: Opotiki Interzone 18 gallons. Whakatane Interzone 30 It Avas decJidcd after some discussion that Zone delegates be requested to investigate the Provincial Council's distribution of 450 gallons of benzine to zones" and also "that Zone K 48 gallon allocation be allocated as betAvcen Opotiki and Whakatane, 20 gallons and 28 gallons respectively."
