AWAKERI SUB-CENTRE BRAXCH RE-ESTABLISHED
The special meeting advertising closing of Awakcri sub-centre, attracted the attention ol' a number of members whose interest in Red Cross activities rejected the idea, and suggested that instead of closing the meeting take tlie form of a general meeting to elect officers. Results are as follows: — President: Mrs Norman Carter. Vice-presidents: Mes-dames Sumner Haul latin and Luke. Secretary: Mrs N. Macdonald. Committee: Mesdames Barr, Chalmers. Co-nnolv, Dodunski, Powell, Hopkirk, Jensen, Knight, Luxton, McLean, McKay, Sumner Senr., and Wilson. Numerous apologies were accepted. Votes of thanks were accorded the retiring officers President Mrs P. Sumner and Secretary Mrs Connolv.. Members expressed thanks to Mr Blair, lion, auditor. A drive is being made for membership and we invite the support of all. Arrangements are beftng made for the. holding of a Daffodil Day at Awaken Hall on Wednesday, September !). Attractions: Stall for produce and cakes, competitions- and items. Admission including tea .1/-.
