MARES FROM THE SOUTH

A large number of South Island mares are being sent to tills island this season. Most of these are to visit the Brentwood Lodge Stud liorse, Kincardine. -Mr Donald Grant, the Timaru studmaster, has booked two sisters to his high-class mare Kinrioull and he is also sending up that brilliant galloper. Both Messrs W. T. Hazlett, Invercargill, and L. C. Hazlett, Taieri, are sending mares to Kindergarten's sire this year. The former breeder, who has many descendants of the famous mare Simper in his stud, has booked three of her descendants.
