TITBITS FROM AN ENGLISH RACE MEETING

Quite the most interesting and instructive events at a recent meeting at Windsor were two for two year olds won by Shilling Light and Liq-< uidamber respectively. These two colts, both by the Continental champion, Nearco, won their races in workmanlike fashion. Nearco's progency arc doing very well in this, their first season on the racecourse. It seems clear that this stallion is going to play a big part in future racing. Later in the afternoon we had the ever-popular spectacle of the two brothers, Gordon and Cliff Richards, at odds in a stirring finish. Cliff was riding Mr J. Barker's Abbeville, Avhich had been quite heavily backed to beat Gordon's mount, Crown Colony. Crown Colony was first past the post, but Clitf lodged an objection against his brother. The objection Avas overruled.
