WHAKATANE CLUB FORMED PLAY COMMENCES ON SATURDAY A general meeting of the Wliakatane Basketball Club Avas held at the High School grounds on Saturday, July 4. The folloAving officers Avere elected:— Patroness: Mrs B. S. Barry. President: Mr C. Kingsley-Smith. Vice-presidents: Mr W. E. Arm-* strong, Mr Cave, Mr C. F. Thomas, Mr J. Rivelt, Mr Ji. Plamus, Mr T. A. Bridger, Mr C. A. Suckling, Mr W. Sullivan, and Mr S. S.i Shapley. Secretary and Treasurer: Miss M. •I. Reardon. Social Committees Mrs W. Ward, Misses M. HoAvat, J. Bridger, J. .Teffares, Isobel Sullivan, P. Francis and T. ZinslL Selectors: Misses M. HoAvat and M. Reardon. It Avas decided to commence play on Saturday next at 2.15 p.m. The selected teams Avill appear in Friday's Beacon.
