BOXERS WELL TO THE FORE IN UNITED STATES ARMY

Boxers by the score have- been introduced into the service or have unlisted in some branch of the United States Army. Gus Lesnevich, world 12.7 champion; Billy Soose, a contender for Lesnevich's crown; Billy Conn, who missed out on his first against Joe Louis next month; and Midget Smith are among them. Baby Brcese joined up immediately after the Pearl Harbour ra\d and when last heard from Avas Avith the U.S. Marines in HaAvaii. Buddy Knox, veteran heaA'y. is with the Air Corps at Forft Benjamin Harrison, Indiana; Jcey Fontana is at Camp Upton; Larrj' Cisneros. Mexican welter, is at Fort Knox, Kentucky; Willis Parker. coming middleweight, is in a Virginia camp; Nick Gianuzzi, lightweight, is a machine gunner Avith fhe Second Armoured Division; and Fred Apostoli is located at the NaA r al Station at Norfolk. At the Naval Station at Jacksonville are George Abrams, Gal Cagni, Tommy Tucker, Frank Poreda, A 1 Nettlow and Steve Belloise.
