WOMAN REORGANISES AIRCRAFT FACTORY

One of the most important departments in a Avell-knoAvn Soviet aircraft factory is directed by a avo— man—Mura Neehayeva, wil'e of the commander of a Red sapper platoon. Until recently she Avorked at the lathe in the same factory. As soon as she was appointed to her present job, she began to introduce improA-e----mcnts. Thanks to her initiatiA r e the department iioav produces 80 different parts for fighter planes and has completed its March programme ahead of schedule. At the beginning of her Avork, Ncchayeva had to overcome an acute shortage of lathes and metals. She asked the -skilled old craftsmen in the factory to help her repair old equipment. Now there are 19 lathes at Avork in her department—nine of them renovated from eld discarded machines.
