EDGECUMBE WATER
PROVISION FOR FIRE BRIGADE NEW CLAUSE IN 1 AGREEMENT' As a direct result of the splendid work of the Rangitaiki Dairy Company's Fire Brigade, on the occasion of the recent fire at Edgecumbe, a new clause has been inserted in the water supply agreement between the County Council and the company which heads-:— '"The Company shall be at liberty for Fire Brigade and fire fighting purposes to tap and take a lead off the Council's 2%" water main at any point between the said reservoir and the master meter installed by the Council near the boundary of the Company's properly and take and use such quantity of water as may at any time be necessary for such purposes provided always that if the situation of the said master meter shall at any time be altered so that water used by the Company for the purpose aforesaid passes through such meter then and in every such case the Company will make all necessary adjustments in the quantity of water to be paid for by the Council."' At yesterday's meeting the agreement Avith the new additional clause was formally ratified. .
