FACTORY RETURNS
INCREASE FOR MAY BIG DROP OVER SEASON 1 The following returns have been supplied by Mr W. G. Lemmon, secretary to the Bay of Plenty Daiiw Association. They sliow that for the first time during' the season there has been an increase in the amount of butt erf at supplied to the factory. This is the result of the delayed autumn growing season clue to the absence of the usual May frosts and the general mildness of the weather. Butterfat supplied amounted to 223,1411b5, against 212,9481bs in 1941, an increase of 10,1921b5. The amount to be paid out for this is £12,542, showing an increase of £505 over the £12,087 paid out last June. The total pay-out for the season to date is down by £31,892. For the eleven months of last year £336,435 was paid out, while this season it has amounted to £304,543. To date 280fi tons 7cwt lyr 201bs of butler have been manufactured. This is a droij of 311 lbs from the amount in 1941, 3T7S tons fiewt 2qrs 191bs. The whole decrease for the season represents 9.82 per cent.
